Her hope is that by sharing her imperfect parenting, struggles with work-life balance and the often laugh-out-loud chaos that her Adult ADHD brings, other imperfect parents can visit theycallmemummy.com to exhale and say, “me too.”
They Call Me Mummy has been honoured with many awards, making her a very proud mama of this blog baby of hers. Most notably, she was honoured as a Voice of the Year by BlogHer in 2013 (“Inspiration” category) and again in 2014 (“Heart” category).
This blog captures her life. Sometimes warm & fuzzy, sometimes shriek-out-loud funny. In her spare time, she's been writing a series of children’s books, which are going to knock your socks off. Your kids are going to adore them, so watch this space.
[…] week, when I was walking out of the school after dropping off Baby G at her pre-school class, I spotted Miss M, with a group of her friends. I began to walk over to say hello (as I have done […]
Awwww loved this! Its lovely to know that nurseries and kindergarten teachers are still amazing, especially with some of the horror stories we hear everyday!
I’m sure she’d be honoured to read this too.
Nicely said! x
Thanks, Tola! We have been so blessed with such a great start – teachers are very special people.
OMG- I am honoured! MJ xxxx
This bought tears to my eyes… I could ditto every word you have said here. What a wonderful year our kids have had this year. It is incredibly comforting watching your child dance into class each day. THANK YOU!
So sweet Michelle!
Michelle,
As a teacher, I would like to thank you. Your words to her teacher touched my heart. Thank you!
Thank you, Dawn. Teachers are very special people.
What a sweet and beautiful post! I hope you are giving a copy of this to your daughter’s teacher!
I did
Brought to tears to my eyes and I love seeing teachers chime in here.
Oh, yes!! Both of my kids had amazing Kindergarten teachers. I think they’re often brushed off in the education world because “all the kids do is play,” but everything they do is a part of setting our kids up to be ready learners and good students and people throughout the rest of their schooling.
Great post!!
Thank you! Yes, they DO get brushed off and they definitely should not. They build the foundation for our kids’ life learning… they teach all the basic skills needed to scaffold life’s lessons. Kindy teachers are heroes, in my opinion.
I love that you and all the other parents who have comment not only understand how important the early years are for your children but also how much your children’s early childhood teachers do and how under valued we all are. Thank you for recognising this and telling her! She would have loved this.
My kids have been so fortunate to have had some incredibly wonderful and committed teachers through the years. They all deserve so much more gratitude than they get.
I just dropped my little girl off to this very teacher! How lucky I am to come home to read this about the amazing woman who is my daughters Kindy teacher. I am so excited to see how their relationship develops. Hugs
